Biography:
13.11.1946 Born in Frederiksværk
In our days the pictures of the world can be rather gloomy. So Carsten Nash's paintings are an encouraging experience with the infectious optimism of his brushstrokes. An optimism which - without ever becoming shallow - is given free play on the canvas.
A pupil of Egill Jacobsen and son of Jørgen Nash - not forgetting Asger Jorn, his paternal uncle - Carsten Nash has had inspiration galore to draw from - and this may also have given him a desire to explore the corners and frontiers of his own personal world.
Today Carsten Nash works in Portugal and Sweden and, especially, at his own Christianshavn studio in Copenhagen. One-man exhibitions since 1976.
