At the age of sevnteen he was accepted at the Fifth National Biennial of Drawing in Caracas as one of the youngest artists, and at eighteen he was already represented by Ars Forum Gallery in Caracas.

Fidel has worked as a scenic artist for an Italian corporation for several years in Dominican Republic and Mexico, then in New York City as a set designer at the beginning of his arrival in 1996, but promptly moved into his first serious gallery representation Monique Goldstrom in Soho in 1998

Fidel Rodriguez has been spending his time between New York, and Chicago where he resides now.
