1934 Born in Kikwetu Village (TZ)
1959 He started to carve first Makonde spirit sculpturers
1971 Lilanga moved to Mbagala, a suburb of Dar es Salaam
1972 He works for Nyumba ya Sanaa, the house of art in the center of Dar es Salaam. In addition to the art of carving he started to deal with other work techniques like etchings, woodcuts, paintings and drawings
1977 George Lilanga began exhibting his work in important international shows
2005 Died in Dar es Salaam (TZ)
