 Biography:  18.2.1924 Born in Kiel, Holstein, SH (DE) 1942 - 1945 soldier 1945 - 1948 self-taught, painter and draughtsman at Kiel 1945 draw and paint graphic works inpired by nature 1947 exhibition at the Kunsthalle de Kief 1948 - 1949 studied at a private school "Kunstschule auf dem Steinberg", at Plön (Holstein) 1950 - 1957 studied at the Kunstakademie of Düsseldorf at the same time as Joseph Beuys and Erwin Heerich. Accomplish his first painting with professor Bruno Goller. In 1951, he achieves his first sculptor with the professor Ewald Mataré 1960 - 1962 His works change radically. The experience of taking apart a clock brings him to built delicate and fragile constructions. He starts to create sculpturs done with wires and small mecanical components, forming static structures which evoke Paul Klee's figures 1964 The artist is known internationnally during a show at the Documenta III at Kassel in the section "Light and Movement" and another exhibition at the MOMA in New York 1966 Günter Haese represents the Federal Republic of Germany in the XXXIII Venise Biennale and receives the David E. Bright price for sculpture 1967 He wins the Cornelius price of the city of Düsseldorf and the price of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Fondation in New York 1969 participates at the Sao Paulo Biennale 1969 - 1970 His works are shown at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Fondation in New York 1980 Triennale Fellbach, Besucherpreis since 1990 1990-1992-1997 Cité des Arts, Paris 1994 Professor at the Landes Schleswig-Holstein Awards 1978 receives the Art price "Landes Schleswig-Holstein" 1981 Price of the Art de Künstler, Düsseldorf 2002 receives the Art price "Schleswig-Holsteinischen Wirtschaft" Lives and works in Dusseldorf (DE) | Public exhibitions 17 Solo shows 42006
