Biography: 
1900 Born in Biała Podlaska, Woj. Lublin (PL)
1913 Jack Tworkov immigrated to the United States to live in New York
1925 he attended classes for drawing at the "Art Students League, New York"
The artist was strongly influenced by Picasso and Cèzanne and devoted to the special structure in the work of these artists.
1935 - 1941 he worked for the WPA, Federal Art Project, where he met Willem de Kooning.

1951 Annual Exhibition of Contemporary American Sculpture, Watercolors and Drawings, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
1958 The New American Painting is shown in Eight European Countries, International, Program of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, travelling exhibiton: Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland; Galleria Civica d-Arte Moderne, Milan, Italy; Museo Nacional de Arte Contempraneo, Madrid, Spain; Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Berlin, Germany; Stediljk Museum, Amsterdam, Netherland; a.o.
1976 The Golden Door: Artist-Immigrants of Americ, 1876-1976, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC.
1949 Tworkov got a member of "The Club" and the "New York School" and was teaching at the "Black Mountain College" in North Carolina. In the middle of the 50s he worked as a professor at the "Yales School of Arts and Architecture"
