Jan Smejkal draws inspiration for his word paintings, watercolors and intertwining line drawings, from the constant bombardment of information of his daily surroundings. Smejkal´s layering of disjoint words and fields of watercolor, show the artist´s concern with the hierarchy and continuous collection of information, while the intertwining line drawings indicate the unconscious way we replace old information with the new.
