Biography: 
1975 Born in Lisboa (PT)
José Batista Marques was born in Lisbon in 1975 and works and lives in Lisbon.
He has studied painting at Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisbon and has exhibiting regurarly since 1996.
José Batista Marques has presented many individual exhibitions to name a few: Commodoro, Carlos Carvalho Arte Contemporânea, Lisbon, 2006), Pipocas Imagens Terminadas, (Gallery Municipal do Centro Cívico de Carnaxide, Carnaxide da Misericórdia, Sines, 2004), Panorâmica 28, (Gallery Ara, Lisbon, 2003).
About his group exhibitions we have to mention XIII premio de artes visuales ciudad de Burriana,(Castellón, Spain, 2008), and 3º Prémio de Pintura Ariane de Rothschild (Antiga Gráfica Mirandela, Lisbon, 2007) and Jeune Création Européenne, (Klaipeda, Lithuania, Land Salzburg, Austria, Gênes, Italy, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Spain, Amarante, Portugal, 2008/2009), Outras Arquitecturas, Outros Artistas...Outras Alternativas, (Carlos Carvalho Arte Contemporânea, Lisbon, 2005), [MAAPA] meu Mundo,(Sé Catedral de Idanha-a-Velha, Idanha-a-Velha, Centro Cultural Raiano, Idanha-a-Nova, 2001).
