Biography:
1968 Born in Velp (?) (NL)
Rosemin Hendriks is well-known for large portraits executed in pencil and featuring a distinctive clarity of line. Although she often depicts her own face, she never calls these pictures self-portraits but always labels them "untitled". She strives consistently and with great meticulousness to efface all trace of emotion and subjectivity. The imposing, monumental drawings – which are often more than life-size – are divorced from reality; they make it clear to us that we cannot grasp life itself and must make do with a representation of it.
