1965 Born in Tarleton (UK)
Vanessa Jane Phaff lives and works in the Netherlands. Phaff constructs apparently simple yet disquieting images of female domesticity and girlhood, which are underpinned by a sense of trauma and unrest. Using a linear style and limited palette Phaff´s protagonists inhabit a graphic world of ordinary sitting rooms, kitchens and backyards.
