An exhibition examining the works and activities of a leading postwar German conceptual artist, Joseph Beuys (1921-1986), from the perspective of contemporary Japan. Available for viewing at the exhibition venue are a slew of valuable works and materials, including an unreleased documentary – rediscovered after a 25-year hiatus – taken during Beuys' visit to Japan in 1984, various objects from private collections that normally cannot be seen publicly, as well as several of Beuys' works from various art museums around Japan, along with exhibition and action posters stylishly expressing the artist's tracks during his visit, and videos of Japanese artists and critics who met Beuys back then.
