Albert Wigand - Works From Seven Decades

This sales exhibition opens on Saturday, 06 September 2008 at 4 p.m. in the course of the Dresden Vernissage-Day. The opening speech will be delivered by Hedwig Doebele.

So far, the last exhibition of works by Albert Wigand in Dresden took place at the Kupferstich-Kabinett in 1990. There are hardly any works of the now coveted modern classic to be found on the art market. We have been able to bring together an outstanding collection: works from seven decades.

In 1982, when still in Ravensburg, we have already been able to interest collectors outside the GDR in Wigand's work, as the artist, being in a thoroughly Francophile mood, created a counterworld to the GDR as it was.
