For his second solo show at Galleria Pack, Alberto Di Fabio conducts an investigation aimed at the molecular and biological right from the outset. The artist's pictorial development has been centered on representations of the microcosms of nature, and he illustrates his constant investigation into the passage between the infinitely small to a macrocosmic vision of reality. His paintings play with the obvious reality of forms in order to unveil their implicit valences, their interwoven fabrics, their tonal scales.
Insomnia reveals the artist's most recent works, marked by a reflection on the distance between the inevitable acceleration of our life rhythms due to a surplus of external pressures and stimuli, as well as the difficulties our nervous systems encounter as they attempt to stay abreast of this velocity and adapt to all these external stimuli. The artist describes the feeling of anxiety characterizing the modern world, captured in a crowded spiral that the organism doesn't appear able to resist.
Observing how the human mind's capacity for absorption has by now been overtaken by an increasingly rapid and unpredictable succession of events, Di Fabio (capturing this movement with a series of instantaneous pictorial visions), invites us to reconsider the organism in its most essential functions.
Di Fabio's paintings portray both nervous ramifications and the neurons and synapses that connect them, at once illustrating the sheer complexity of the human organism and comparing it with the vegetal system. Immersed among the artist's paintings, the viewer's attention is literally captivated by these extremely colorful and hypnotic compositions, artworks filled with multihued systems and networks. Di Fabio investigates the entire arc of nature and its primary structures among these moments of organic development and particles crowded together in an anomalous manner.
