ANTONIA PEÑA
GALERÍA FERNANDO MAGDALENA. VIGO
Images that look like snapshots, close-ups, saturated colours… Some scenes full of intimacy, of used spaces, of suitable places. The series of photographs shown in this gallery are part of the life project of Antonia Peña (Cambados, Pontevedra, 1979). Leave me alone registers a series of meetings where subject and object merge together.
Antonia Peña describes Leave me alone as "a Project about the woman and about everything related to her intimacy. It is the need to express my feelings, the level of sensation of the body. It is this view of my own body, of expression, of sensation, a game at the mental level between sensation and pure feeling. This sums up my work, body, gesture and feeling. Existing is Feeling, as Rousseau had already said".
She was trained as an image technician, and she also studied cinema and photography. Antonia Peña has exhibited in different spaces in Spain, Russia and Canada since 2000, and in some galleries such as Dolores de Sierra (Madrid), Irina Maldonado (Toledo), Alba Cabrera (Valencia) or in some institutions such as the MANEGE (Saint Petesburg). |
