Art Madrid 2011 increases the quality level and maintains the number of galleries
From 16th to 20th February, 2011, Art Madrid returns to the annual encounter with collectors, professionals and contemporary art lovers, in its 6th edition, again in the traditional location in the Pabellón de Cristal at the Casa de Campo, in Madrid. Directed mainly to Spanish contemporary art collectors, Art Madrid is the second Contemporary Art Fair in Spain, both for the space filled and for the number of galleries.
Art Madrid 2011 will host 60 galleries, chosen by a new selection committee, among the most prestigious from the national and international scene, that will display works by leading contemporary artists. Among the Spanish, stands out the presence of new galleries, such as Joan Guaita, from Mallorca or Saro León, from Canary Islands, besides Trinta, Punto, May Moré, Estampa, 3 Punts, Fernando Latorre or Alonso Vidal, among others. The organization expects to welcome over 45,000 visitors.
Art Madrid will show for the third consecutive year the program Young Art, dedicated to young artists, including galleries and emerging artists that -due to great public success achieved in previous editions-, has become one of the biggest bettings of the fair. Art Madrid Collection of Unique Works on Paper continues its path and will increase their funds again with works acquired among the galleries attending the fair. In the interest of promoting the art collecting, Art Madrid 2011 has developed a special program for contemporary art collectors.
