One Love, One Art!
The main core for art collectors is their passion for art. Walter Benjamin once said, "Ownership is the most intimate relationship one can have to objects," which perfectly represents the thirst that collectors have towards their pursuit of artwork. The annuel spirit of Art Taipei "One Love One Art!" stand for the essential element as love for art; regardless of whether one is a collector or an artist, the love for art is both their original inspiration and nucleus of thought. They strive to connect with as many art hobbyists as possible through the touching message that "Art originates from Love".
Encompassing the spirit of "One Love One Art!", Art Taipei has planned to play the award-winning film "Herb and Dorothy", exclusively during this exhibition. This movie is a documentary of a civilian American collector couple, Herbert and Dorothy Vogel, illustrating the tight knitted relationship between the love for art and life while including cameo appearances of the director, Megumi Sasaki, renowned curator Rong Zhi Lu and collector Xian Yao to broaden the depth of movie's content for further discussion.
Japanese civilian collector, Daisuke MIYATSU, also accepted Art Taipei's invitation, will be giving a lecture sharing the process in the road to becoming a famous collector as a salary man and simultaneously expressing personal experiences and attainments from his love of art. Collecting art is definitely not a privilege and can be accomplished by those who strive to do so. The beautiful life that art can bring (Dolce Vita) is also the central notion behind Art Taipei's "One Love, One Art!" exhibition.
