A window on emerging art worldwide. An essential cultural event for everyone in the art world and for lovers of contemporary art. This is what the new Artissima project launched by Andrea Bellini, director of the Fair from 2007, intends to be. In recent years, Artissima has created a precise international position for itself as a review of emerging trends and of the younger generations of galleries and artists.
The Fair intends to raise the event to the very highest levels of quality by subjecting exhibitors to an extremely strict selection process.

Artissima will bring to Turin the latest and most prominent names on the international art market: an exclusive array of galleries, all of them at the height of fame in terms of quality of the works and the artists they represent.

New Entries will present a group of young avant-garde galleries taking part in the Fair for the first time, and a wave of innovation will also sweep through the other two special sections of Artissima:

- Present Future: this will be a fully fledged exhibition, devoted to the world’s most interesting emerging artists, selected by a team of curators on the basis of sitespecific projects which will be shown together in a single display tour;

- Constellations: the event for large museum-type works will adopt a new curatorial approach, creating a constellation that will make its mark in terms of the celebrity of the artists and the quality and appeal of the works selected.

Artissima will become a key event also and especially from a cultural point of view, strengthening its ties and contacts with local art institutions and promoting a series of crowd-pulling events at the Fair, in the city, and throughout Italy:

At the Fair

The programme of conferences organised by Mans Wrange (Konstfack, Stockholm) will be devoted to curatorial schools: two days of intense debate and dialogue, with the participation of about ten leading international curators. Professionals and the press will be able to meet the curators in a special meeting place in the Fair in order to find out about their latest plans: another exclusive new event at Artissima. An exhibition of videos by world-famous artists, curated by Cecilia Alemani, will accompany the event with non-stop screenings in a chill-out area at the Fair.
The general public will once again be offered special “Listen To The Writer” guided tours led by a group of important journalists.
