Arnaldo Roche confronts us once again with the tragic aspect that surrounds life. This time the rubbed objects give the impression of being washed by the waters: They reappear on the surface to remind us of our vulnerability and at the same time to question our faith and motivation for living.
Roche was born in Puerto Rico in 1955 and began his studies in architecture in the University of Puerto Rico. Later, he completes his bachelor´s degree as well as his masters in Fine Arts in the Art Institute of Chicago, in 1982 and 1984 respectively.
Currently, Roche participates in several collective exhibitions:
FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING Miami Art Museum
PORTRAITS San Diego Museum of Art
(This exhibition was also presented at the Museo del Barrio and will be presented in the Bass Museum of Art in Miami; in the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC, and in the San Antonio Museum of Art, Texas.)
