CHRISTOPH BRECH - TRANSITO

Christoph Brech's video works transform ordinary occurrences into moments of signifi cance. At the entrance of a Roman church a heavy curtain sways in the wind, defi ning the threshold between outside and within, between light and darkness. A conductor's tailcoat visualises the music. Images fl ow like a slow stream which subjects time, space and the observer's vision to a reduced rhythm of perception.

In 2006 Christoph Brech was Artist in Residence at the German Academy Villa Massimo in Rome. His work has been honoured with the "Will Grohmann-Preis" granted by the Akademie der Künste, Berlin, and given the Award "Junge Kunst und Neue Medien" by the City of Munich.
