»A landscape is thus a space deliberately created to speed up or slow down the process of nature.«
(John. Brinckerhoff. Jackson, 1984)

¿speed up I slow down? is the title of the latest exhibition of Dagmar Varady.
Artistic and multimedia pictures are both qualified to call up the subject of the continuity of cultural values.

In the center of the exhibition is the picture ¿AWESOME?. It shows a landscape out of the internet. Beside the typical esthetic of the image it owns an extraordinary magic. The actual background of this picture is a catastrophy in the forests of California in the year 2003. Huge forest fires had the landscape light up for its last time. It could also be read differently as a romantic landscape with deers in the sunset. The photographer of this picture died taking this photography. In the context of the exhibition the planed manipulation of nature through excelleration and decelleration of processes by machines will be made a topic and a criticism at the same time.
