Edward Mitterrand Gallery is proud to announce its September exhibition dedicated to one of the most important Swiss creator of the past century whose works are part of prestigious collections in his home country as well as all around the world.
The exhibition, which coincides with the common opening night of the " Quartier des Bains " association of Museums and galleries, includes 15 pieces from a private collection built during the past five years: low tables, armchairs, console, sculptures, lamps, vase, ... as well as a very rare library.
These items, essentially made out of bronze, mix rich patinas and amazing proportions and partly retrace the artist's career from 1928 until 1980. Each certified with original documents by Mr. James Lord, their provenance systematically go back to the primary clients who had bought them directly from Diego Giacometti or from the decorator who had ordered them to the artist.
A catalogue will be edited b the gallery which will illustrate all of the exhibited works.
Finally, a group of paintings (Yves Klein, Jean Dubuffet, …) and drawings (Alberto Giacometti, Matisse, Tinguely, …) as well as a wall sculpture by Jean Tinguely will accompany the show.
