"Panta rhei! This is my self definition of style & the headline of various aerosol-cans paintings, which I began to create at the end of February 2007. The technique is based on my past experience with graffiti art, but this style is full of drips and sags and is in a certain opposition to the perfect masterpieces of graffiti-art kings. The overcome a bondage of this kind of professional perfectionism opens for me a free space of lucky idiotism. This is more of an expressionist, brutally sensitive punk. I like the dynamic aspect of interflowing colors which is present in these static pictures. It reminds me of the sentence by Heraclitus of Ephesus: Panta rhei! (Everything flows … flows… flows) Like a river, like rain, tears and time or sperm or piss… or passing. You can also call it graffiti art-brut. On this basis, when at this work, I enjoyed being a kind of lucky idiot and I created spontaneous compositions on paper and now on big canvas. When I paint, - I always feel like as thought - I am tuning a TV picture from misty granulations/noise to a sharp picture of a finally captured broadcast. The volcanic statement of lucky idiot eruptions is in contrast - to the presence of heraclitus in these paintings, which many people felt to be somehow depressing." Erik Binder
