 Harding Meyer, w.t., oil on canvas, 2011, 220 x 170 cm | | |
From February 18th to March 26th, 2011, Galerie Voss will be showing new paintings by Harding Meyer. Besides the known large sized portraits taken from media sources, the exhibit titled "to be a real vision" will present a new category of works, which have been created on the basis of previously manipulated images. These images have been altered through digital image processing in such a way that deformations, doublings or even different faces and viewing-perspectives are generated within the painting. During the painting process, these manipulations go through a further step of intensification and mutation, which leads to an enhanced perception regarding questions of the (painterly) identity, which is the core theme in Harding Meyers' paintings.
A comprehensive catalogue will be published. |
