Due to the great successes the exhibition is prolonged from November 1. 2011 to March 1. 2012
CCA Andratx is pleased to host the surprising show of photographs authored by the internationally renowned photographer Henrik Saxgren (1953, Denmark). The CCA Gallery presents a selection of the successful exhibition "Unintended Sculptures", which was shown in 2009 at the National Museum of Photography and Martin Asbaek Gallery, both in Copenhagen.
The artist starts from the assumption that anything in the world can potentially become an art object. The exhibition becomes an image archive of manmade objects, apparently abandoned in the wild.
The exhibition includes a series of large format photographs in which Saxgren has worked since 2001. From all around the world, especially Spain and Iceland, he collects landscapes images, which a priori seem really idyllic, but in which the hand of men can be lamentably seen. |
