On 16 February 2012 at 18 hrs, Bergman Berglind will open the exhibition "Worries and Urges and Secrets and Needs" with the works by Joanne Grüne-Yanoff with a vernissage at its gallery in 49, rue Baudouin in Luxembourg-Hollerich.
Joanne Grüne-Yanoff is an American artist who lives and works in Stockholm. Her work has been shown internationally, most recently in Berlin, New York, Helsinki and Stockholm, and now in Luxembourg.
"Worries and Urges and Secrets and Needs" is an exhibition telling stories of life in a poetic and yet a playful way. Grüne-Yanoff's artistic language is rich with symbols. She uses a variety of materials like eggshells, feathers, moss, butterfly wings, video and photographs in order to express the constant presence of change, the desire to be something else, the tenacity and fragility of life. Despite the symbolism and the seriousness of the topics she works with, Grüne-Yanoff's work is anything but heavy. On the contrary, her art works are playful, delicate, intriguing. |
