The painting of (Xove , Lugo, 1956) is interested in the landscape from a close and watchful view of the natural environment, as a consequence of an interrelation feeling with the place.

Xpán Guerreiro shows, in the pieces present at this gallery in Vigo, different views that have a bearing on some aspects present in his previous work. His pieces look for the essentializaton of the real. His glance at nature turns round to the sea, a Cantabrian Sea that appears in his pieces constantly, as a primitive element belonging to a cyclic time.

This painter from Lugo works faithful to the place where he lives, to the place he belongs to, both thematically and representationally. So the landscape and the Galician context are always present in his work.

He has worked in the field of edition, in the illustration of books (A fonte da vida longa, Tralas portas do rostro, Ninguén chorou por nós), and he has also designed album covers: Rosas de luz by the band Xocaloma, and Agardando que pase algo, an album by Fía na Roca. He was the finalist in the contest of tale illustration Espasa-Calpe, and the first prize of the painting competition Lugonova 90.
