 Liu Zhuoquan, Fallen sparrow, 2011,
explosion-proof light globes, glass bottle, mineral colour (dimensions variable) | | |
While Beijing based artist, Liu Zhuoquan's monumental Two-Headed Snake installation at the 18th Biennale of Sydney is attracting enormous attention, Niagara is delighted to present his Fallen sparrow installation, as well as other 'scientific experiments'.
Liu has drawn from his experience in Tibet and China to create a visual commentary on the world around him. His works marry traditional snuff bottle painting techniques and Buddhist philosophy with a sharp eye for contemporary issues, to create powerful and memorable works.
Liu has exhibited regularly at important galleries in China and Hong Kong. He is represented in significant international collections including the inspiring Uli Sigg Collection from Switzerland; White Rabbit Collection, Australia; Xu Longsen, China; Lin Yunqiang, Indonesia among others.
Private appointments are now available to preview the exhibition prior to the opening. Please contact the gallery to arrange a time or to request a list of works. |
