LONDON ART FAIR
15-19 January 2014
Business Design Centre London N1
London Art Fair is the UK’s premier Fair for Modern British and contemporary art, annually launching the art world year. The 26th edition of the Fair takes place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, a stone’s throw from central London, and will feature over 120 carefully selected galleries from the UK and overseas.
Highlights of the next edition include a special feature exhibition by award-winning gallery The Hepworth Wakefield. This unique showcase will include major Modern British artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Terry Frost and Henry Moore, providing a significant opportunity for visitors to engage with a presentation of exceptional museum quality works.
Situated alongside the main Fair is Art Projects, a critically acclaimed section featuring solo and group displays, large scale installations and experimental film and video work. Adam Carr this year curates a new ‘Dialogues’ section, featuring collaborative presentations between invited UK and international gallery pairings.
Also not to be missed is Photo50, the Fair’s guest-curated exhibition of contemporary photography. Charlie Fellowes and Jeremy Epstein - Directors of Edel Assanti Gallery - this year curate the showcase, examining the effect that the Internet has had on the medium of photography.
Running throughout the Fair is a dedicated Programme of talks, tours and discussions, entrance to which is included with a Fair ticket or invitation. Contributors this year include Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Contemporary Art Society and the National Portrait Gallery.
