The CCA Gallery is pleased to open its first solo exhibition by Marcelo Viquez. Born in Montevideo (UY) in 1971 and based in Palma de Mallorca since a decade, Viquez's work is marked by the force of his nonconformist character. His continuous search of new forms, in order to explore the liberty of expression, converts him into an artist without any limits. His works have been shown in Mallorca, New York and Cologne and will be shown in Berlin in the near future, at the exhibition "Contemporani Balears". He has received several awards and his sculpture "Bone" has been selected to be part of the Sculpture Project of Art Cologne Palma de Mallorca in 2007.

In this show in the CCA Gallery, Viquez presents 100 new works, mainly drawings but also paintings, sculptures, photographs and two videos. In a continuous search of new forms, these works reflect the artist's personal exploration of violence and Latin emigration.
