Martin Gross recently finished his studies under Prof. Annette Schroeter at the Hochschule fuer Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig and creates images at the interstice of chaos and order. In his meticulously executed drawings delicate lines, darkely hatched spaces, paper white segments and hard silhouettes form complex spatial visions, which subversively elude any utilitarian function.
The artist has already received several awards and scholarships: The Kunsthuettenpreis des Museums fuer zeitgenoessische Kunst/Neue Saechsische Galerie in Chemnitz (2010) and Studienpreis der HGB Leipzig (2011), as well as the Woodmill Artist Residency in London (2013).
His works have most recently been exhibited in the exhibition At it's Best! at the Saechsische Landesvertretung in Berlin (2013), which presented outstanding students and master students of the HGB Leipzig.
Gallery FELDBUSCHWIESNER is pleased to present works of the young artist in his first comprehensive solo show.
