"A hammer is a hammer is not a Superhammer": that represents eminently the 12 Superhammers Matze Görig is going to exhibit in the Gallery Travesée. His concept for the show uses the banality of various comercial strategies and focuses on their usual multiple lable effects. Superhammer-sticker, Superhammer-flyer, Superhammer-countdown, Superhammer-newsticker - via the abstract ways of communication the Superhammer could become a real summer hit. However the Superhammer objects withdraw themselves from each kind of fixed instrumentalisation - commercial product as well as artistic creation.
Placed in diverse boxes and bags, the wooden Superhammer-types offer, just like a collection of decorative weapons, different possibilities to deal with: from Violent till Happy Stile, from Cubicorientalarthistorical up to Dead. These individual styles are suggested by Matze Görig´s backstage voice in the Superhammer advertising clip directly to the Superhammer-Fans. One question remains: will the Superhammer be able to achieve pull the legs of Pop Art and conceptual theories and at the same time become the most successful Superhammer of all times?
Matze Görig was born in 1980 in Konstanz and absolved his studies at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Munich in the class of Prof. Joseph Kosuth.
