Kuckei + Kuckei

Oliver van den Berg

26th August - 14th October

opening reception: 26th August, 6pm - 10pm

Kuckei + Kuckei is happy to present "Mikros", the latest work by Oliver van den Berg. You are cordially invited to this event.

For his exhibition at Kuckei + Kuckei, Oliver van den Berg will fill the gallery space with a large number of wooden microphones. The microphones, not only receivers freed from their original intent, change into independent objects and actors full of character.

Communication takes place both amongst the microphones and between the object and the spectator within the exhibition space. The expectation of visitor and object collide with eachother.

During 2005/2006 the work by Oliver van den Berg was exhibited in several group exhibitions, as for example "Fraktale IV" at the Palast der Republik, Berlin, "Rückkehr ins All" at the Hamburger Kunsthalle and "SNAFU", also at the Hamburger Kunsthalle. In 2006 Oliver van den Berg received the one year "Berliner Senatsstipendium für Bildende Kunst" (Berlin senate grant for fine Arts).

During the upcoming months Oliver van den Berg will take part in the exhibitions "Tales Vo. I" at the Contemporary Art Centre Vilnius, Lithuania (Nov. 2006–Jan. 2007), "Die Macht der Dinge" – Positionen Junger Bildhauerei" (positions of late sculpture) at the Georg-Kolbe-Museum Berlin (11th of Febuary until 6th of May 2007), as also "made in Germany" at the Sprengel Museum, the Kestnergesellschaft and at the Kunstverein Hannover (24th of May until 26th of August 2007).
