The works by Peter K. Koch can be located at the intersection between Pop, Minimal, and Punk. The vigorous colours come from Pop. The clear structures and simple forms derive from Minimal. The tendency towards aggressiveness and destruction are based in Punk.

Peter K. Koch cuts openings into surfaces and bodies. The motifs range between geometric forms, pictograms, symbols and typographic elements. Nevertheless the works withhold any meaningful decipherment. His chief concern ist the associative energy coming from the free form. His works are investigations in the field of non-objective phenomenons.

Viewing the works, one repeatedly has to decide what to perceive: the open or the closed, the outer or the inner, the gap or the edge, the space or the surface, the composition or the structure, the nought or the something. Eventually it's a strictly formalistic-analytic attitude.

From no to yes, from not to yet, from nothing to something.
