Pierre Alechinsky (b. 1927) visualises the random, the uncontrolled, in expressionist manner. The characteristic quality of his works lies in the setting he composed himself. From his encounter with Japanese calligraphy and his experiences with the Cobra movement he forges lines and colours that seem alive, an organic rhythm.
