Portfolio is an eclectic exhibition focusing on that part of the artists oeuvres, which has been dedicated to one special theme, for example: Royal Blood by Erwin Olaf, Fairy Tales by Andrej Glusgold, Zulu Sushi by Peter Engblom, Small Collectors by Alvin Booth, Listening to Cement by Rober Stivers or the NO-Series by Kris Scholz.
Some of the photographs in the exhibition strive to critique the societal archetypes, others may provoke by being explicit. Narrative structures provide a popular format for some of them, while others appeal to the emotions of the viewer offering gestures, details and atmosphere, which
help to identify, to recognize.
All in all Portfolio offers the viewer an idea about the many roles of photography in our culture today and at best it leaves an imprint in the observers mind. |
