What is a still life, a landscape, an interior? Compositions. Images made of interchangeable parts of different genres and associations. The still life experiences a subjective expansion by its poetical charge. The landscape is composed of representations of its stereotype elements. The interior is presented without making a difference between its documenting or staging. In Renate Brandt‘s works the genres interfuse, so that landscapes are also interiors or still lifes – and vice versa. It‘s about images.
