SIS TAGGMAN - SIS.TM is probably the only famous avant-garde European artist, who deals with influences of the Internet on the development of modern society. In his projects, he focuses on physiological transformations of individuals who experience socialisation in hyperspace. These transformations are the core of the processes which later grow into social phenomena.

In his new video project FUNNY SUBJECTS, SIS.TM, which is a part of a bigger project FLICKERING SUBJECTS, SIS.TM deals with absurdity of beings and statements of the cyberspace.

His new film, produced for the FUNNY SUBJECTS, seems to be a digital freak show. A second look would expose, however, that there are common bourgeois behind the masks, who found the stage and audience to live their obsessions on the blogs and video platforms.

SIS.TM glimpses into dark corners of video platforms and founds quite a vital narcissistic subculture there. Though, a closer examination reveals those as a romping place of the retarded persons. All the amusing, surreal presentations cannot hide one common feature: desperate wish for attention and devotion. This is a reoccurring topic of SIS.TM's works.

FUNNY SUBJECTS is a wonderfully expressive film. It allows a spectator, bursting with curiosity, catch a glimpse of the backstage of cyberspace. This new remarkable facet of FLICKERING SUBJECTS is supplemented by impressive digital paintings, based on video stills.
