The Dreams Of A Dream
Pastels and Drawings
Scott Valenzuela is a young self taught artist from the suburbia of Southern California. After monitoring his path for about two years, evaluating his talent, his determination and artistic potential and credibility, I now decided to include him in our group of renown and emerging international artists and feel happy and content to present his first One-Man-Show. Valenzuela, who studied Philosophy and is well read, combines ascetic behaviour with elements of an almost nostalgic cliché of bohemian life style and applies them in his daily routine of creating. He consequently chooses classic techniques to transform his imagination and perception of being into a canon of mysterious and wonderstruck reflections, born of a mind that stands in stark contrast to the favored concepts of life style in his habitat, which are dominated by consumerism and entitlement.
"... to find an escape and an explanation, I withdraw into my mind, to pull out the sparse pieces of an unconscious world, that I create and explore every chance I get. My art is a visual novel with reoccurring people and things...when you look at my art, you are looking at pieces of my life... I incorporate it all into my world of open plots of dirt and walls, closedin stair cases, a heroic fool, night skies and light bulbs."
