Born in Zwickau, East Germany, Thomas Florschuetz lives and works in Berlin since 1988. In 1987, he was awarded first prize from the Young European Photographers, Frankfurt am Main. His work was included in the Museum of Modern Art's New Photography V(1989), Multiple Images (1993) and in Object and Abstraction: Contemporary Photographs (1998). Florschuetz' works can be found in many collections in the US and Europe including: The Museum of Modern Art (New York), The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Museum of Fine Art (Houston, TX), The Folkwang Museum (Essen, Germany), Staatsgalerie (Stuttgart, Germany), Staatliche Kunstsammlungen (Dresden, Germany), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany), The Museum of Contemporary Art (Oslo,Norway), and Kunsthalle (Malmo, Sweden). | |||||
