Tony Bevan, Tree PC1212, 2012 acrylic and charcoal on canvas 130.8 x 165.7cm
Niagara Galleries in association with Liverpool Street Gallery, Sydney presents an exhibition of works by Tony Bevan - one of Britain's most eminent and significant contemporary painters.
Bevan works in the tradition of the School of London creating strong, evocative paintings that have a similar intensity to the work of founding members Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon. His techniques push the boundaries between drawing and painting and between representation and abstraction. These exceptionally visceral works expand these relationships through a concise repertoire of recurring subject matter.
The gallery will also be exhibiting work by Rick Amor and Helen Maudsley.
