The Toronto International Art Fair (TIAF) is Canada’s fair for modern and contemporary art. Staged at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, this highly anticipated annual event showcases renowned Canadian and international modern and contemporary fine art from modern masters to the vanguard and ranging from museum caliber to the more affordable. Last year’s Art Toronto 2008 featured more than 100 galleries from 14 countries including 22 first time participants selected by a committee of established art professionals. The event attracted 18,000 visitors in just five days and facilitated over $15 million dollars in sales securing its position as the country’s most discriminating and relevant art event.
TIAF is attended by a loyal, educated and interested audience on a local and national scale. Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Ottawa have sophisticated and celebrated cultural institutions, art collectors and patrons – all of whom attend TIAF.
Fair highlights include an exceptional cultural program consisting of a diverse range of interactive programming, curatorial projects and prominent guest speakers. Visitors have the opportunity to explore current art trends, purchase art, access global art publications and enjoy some downtime in on-site cafes and installation rest areas.
The extensive exhibition of Canadian and international art works, combined with distinguished cultural programming makes TIAF a visual feast for art aficionados and amateur art lovers alike.
Art Toronto 2009 will take place from October 22-26 and will mark the exciting 10th anniversary of the Toronto International Art Fair. For more information on the Fair and its programming please visit www.tiafair.com or contact info@tiafair.com |
