 Wilhelm Lehmbruck, Mother and Child, 1910/11 | | |
The artist settled in Paris since 1910. The influences in his work in those years refer as well to French as to Italian sculpture. French sculpture itself was indebted to Italian art in that time. Furthermore an important commission gave the financial base for Lehmbruck's second journey to Italy and a new artistic drive in 1912.
