- A whole different face of contemporary art will be shown in the new design pavilion, through the exhibition of 10 design galleries projects.

- Z ONAMACO SURR, lead by Adriano Pedrosa as curator of the section, confirm its success as an iconic part of the fair for third year in a row, presenting this year solo projects of talented female artists.

- Up to 2 million dollars of investment, will bring together for 5 days, almost 1,000 artists of more than 110 galleries from all around the world, with an expected assistance of over 31,000 people.

Mexico City, January 24th, 2011.- As innovation has become a tradition during Z ONAMACOR, the most important and prestigious International Contemporary Art Fair in Latin America, this year will not be an exception, by presenting the avant-garde aspect of the fair with Z ONAMACO DISENOR, the new design pavilion, in which 10 projects of national and international design galleries, such as Esrawe Studio, Pirwi, Studio Roca, Ezequiel Farca and Emiliano Godoy will exhibit their design proposals closely linked to contemporary art elements, just as has been settle by international trends. The galleries selection for this pavilion were designated by the important
professionals: architect Enrique Norten, curator Ana Elena Mallet and the entrepreneur Moises Micha.

"Due to the last two years success with Z ONAMACO SURR, in 2011 we¡¦ve tried to give a new light in the kind of projects that are invited to exhibit in this section by the curator Adriano Pedrosa, and this time while his selection took place, suddenly happened that all of the selected artists were women, what, for sure, will give a very special taste to exhibition.¡¨, said Zelika Garcia, Z ONAMACOR director.

Among the artists and galleries invited are: Sandra Cinto from CASA TRIANGULO, Gilda Mantilla from REVOLVER, Teresa Margolles from LABOR, Geta Bratescu from IVAN GALLERY and Valeska Soares from FORTES VILACA.

Almost 1,000 artists of more than 110 galleries from all around the world together in a 10,000 square meters exhibition area, will bring a wide sample of international contemporary art, as the result of the extraordinary selection made by the expert committee integrated by Patricia Ortiz Monasterio and Jaime Riestra from OMR (Mexico), Daniel Roesler from NARA ROESLER (Brazil), Thomas Krinzinger from KRINZINGER PROJEKTE (Austria), Silvia Ortiz and Ines Lopez Quesada from TRAVESIA CUATRO (Spain) and Carolyn Alexander from ALEXANDER AND BONIN (USA).

The same professionalism and expertise are brought to the selection of galleries for New Proposals section by the hand of the Mexican curator Pablo León de la Barra.

Besides the new section of the fair and the main exhibition zone, the traditional Collectors Program will take place as in the past years including a socio-cultural program with visits to private collections, to museums of the city as well as events with museums representatives, curators, gallery owners and collectors.

With an investment of up to 2 million dollars, Z ONAMACO® will expect an assistance of more than 31,000 people at Centro Banamex Room D, from April 6th to 10th, 2011, positioning this international fair as a must for all those interested in contemporary art.
