The contemporary art is the art which continuously break through the people's taste in the existing culture and aesthetic standard. It is the history of using own art to create the new trend of the times. This shows either the breakthrough in art theme and energy, or in the development of media and materials. Art Beijing 2006, as one of the most internationalized expositions will organize a theme exhibition "Art Unforbidden" which is the regular exhibition project of Art Beijing 2006 every time. The theme exhibition is designed to introduce and promote the most active art trend of thought and artists in the art circle today. The participating artists could be said on one hand to surpass the current art trend in concept and language form, but on the other hand they are the breakthrough to the present art reality. They are the future of art. The difference between the projects during "Art Unforbidden" and "Art Beijing 2006" is the project combining pure learning with internationalization. Its purpose is to provide prospects for the art future in learning through introducing and planning this project by the invited planners.

Art Beijing 2006 has invited the Chinese young Curator Pi Li. Art Unforbidden of this year stresses on the past two years' trend " Returning back to Visual Sense" concerned by the art and museum circles, invite the 14 international artists warmly welcomed and paid much attention to in learning at present. Different from that contemporary art emphasizes on judgment and concept for reality in the past, these works by the middle aged and young artists usually take the picture of practical life as the staring point. By means of adaptation, re-molding and illusion, they achieve the image adaptation. Their works stress on the delicate and lifelike making, even more emphasize on returning back from concept to visual sense in the contemporary art. Directly perceived through the senses, these works are very close to the visual experience provided by the present life trend and the popular arts, as well as more individual color and humane concern. The participating artists will show mainly video recording, photograph taken and installation. There are also some paintings.
