  “My Revolution” --- Behold Creativity of 254 Artists from 42 Nations

With the astonishing rate of 90% of exhibiting artists having sales during last years show, along with great support from world-class high-powered collectors, Art Revolution Taipei (A.R.T.) will launch its 3rd rendition, running May 3-6, at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 3. Continuing the dual curatorial axes – “Presenting artists at the center of the exhibition stage” and “Designing the entire art fair as a colossal artwork” – the 3rd A.R.T. presents “My Revolution” as its annual theme. The entire exhibition will be designed into nine sections: Curatorial Classics, Taiwan Contemporary Art, China Contemporary Art,
International Contemporary Art, New York Contemporary Art Fund, International Artist Juried Competition, Art with Entrepreneurs, Art and Design, and Art Your Compassion. The fair showcases more distinguished artists to participate than ever before, with 254 artists from 42 countries, totaling 1800 artworks.

China Contemporary Art
Featuring Chinese artists with solid training, innovate ideas, powerful imagination, and collectible potential. Artist inculde Xue Song, Huang Gang, Du Xi, Liu Jiutong, Zhu Bingren, Sanzi, Zhang Yuying,Zhang Shiying, Yao Xiaobao, Lu Chengxiang, Cai Shuxin, Wang Zhaoju, Wang Fengwei, Wang Xuedong, Jiang You, Liu Jianhua, and Wang Chunyan. Their artwork demonstrate various agendas and address different concerns, reflecting how the rapid change of time has influenced their art.

International Contemporary Art
Rigorously selected from artists around the world, this section exhibits works with cultural or national representation. The exhibiting artists include: Chinese-born French Art Academician Chu Teh-Chun; Yayoi Kusama from Japan; Richard Yang from UK; David Graux, Gilles Vanackere, and Hwang Lih-Ren from France; Karol Bak from Poland; Ertugrul Ates from Turkey; Tsunak from Russia; Leo Gek Ching from Singapore; Jessica Lin and Kirk Bauer from USA. The exhibition “The Greats vis-à-vis the Greats”
focus on works with exquisite skills and distinguished styles, such as Anna Bocek, Poland; Andrius Kovelinas, Ireland; BoykoKolev, Bulgaria; Christiane Vleugels, Belgium; Juan Carlos Manjarrez, Mexico; Ricardo Celma, Argentina; and Ryan Hewett, South Africa. In addition the “Spanish Art Zone,” highlights excellent Spanish artists like Gabriel Picart, Alfonso Cuñado Rodríguez, Arnau Alemany, Equipo Sur and Fermín Colomer.

New York Contemporary Art Fund
New York Contemporary Art Fund has long been devoted to nurturing artists with exceptional talents and promoting new forms of expression, whether in painting, photography, installation art, or mixed media.
This year, it presents works by Peter H. Harskamp, Holland; Cathy Pitts, USA; Pieter Wagemans, Belgium; Arthur Braginksy, Ukraine; Iskren Semkov, Bulgaria; and István Cene Gál, Hungary.

2013 International Artist Juried Competition
The “International Artist Juried Competition” organized by Taiwan International Contemporary Artist Association has become one of the largest art events in Asia. To expand its scope, it began collaborating with A.R.T. last year, drawing 2534 entries from 48 countries to enroll. Equally competitive this year, IAC received 2462 submissions from 50 nations. The winner will be entitled to hold a solo exhibition at A.R.T. 2014. In this current fair, A.R.T. has invited last year’s gold medalist Maciej Gador from Poland to exhibit.

Art and Design
This section is designed to shorten the gap between life and art, infusing aesthetics into every aspect of daily routines. GP DEVA, an international luxury group, is invited to display their creativiyof integrating art into merchandise design, ranging from home décor to leather goods, stationery, and other exquisitely refined commodities.

Art Your Compassion
This event combines philanthropy with art in hopes of drawing public attention to art activities while promoting humanitarian concerns. It invites celebrities, social elites, and entrepreneurs at home and abroad to create artworks for benefit sale. The participants this year include: Lee Teng-Hui, the former President of R.O.C.; Mao Chi-Kuo, Vice Premier of Executive Yuan; Shih Jui-Jen, Director of Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei; Maggie Tsai, CEO of Fubon Art Foundation; Lin Cho-Liang, world-famous violinist; Matthew Carl Lien, international-renowned musician and environmentalist; Steven Hung, Director of Waterland Financial Holdings; Steven Pan, Chairman of Formosa International Hotels; Chao Xi-Jiang, Chairman of Ruentex Development; Tsai Ming-Chung, Chairman of Fubon Financial; Irene Chen, Executive Director of Fubon Cultural and Educational Foundation; Paul Jobin, Director of The French Centre for Research on Contemporary China in Taiwan; Tseng Ya-Ni, world golf champion; and the like. Participants from the entertainment industry include iwan’s most popular model Lin Chi-Ling, female chorus S.H.E., Tony Yang, Amber Kuo, Janine Chang, Kai Ko, Cheer Chen, Crowd Lu, and other hundreds of celebrities.

Artworks for this charity event are approximately 17.5 x 14 cm. Each priced at NT$1000 each guest is allowed to collect a maximum of two artworks. The name of the artist will be revealed to the collector only after s/he purchases the work. All proceeds go directly to the Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation, an organization dedicated to burn survivors and people with facial disfigurement. Staff from the Sunshine Foundation will take charge of the entire charity sale.

In addition, Focus Media will sponsor two large LED screens displaying photos on site of participants holding their artworks created for benefit sale. LED screens installed in major buildings throughout Taipei will broadcast A.R.T. Art fair and the “Art Your Compassion” event.

Cheer with Kangxi
Lastly this years fair includes the exclusive event taking place at the trademarked Dao Café’ of A.R.T. In collaboration with GP DEVA, A.R.T. 2013 will present “Cheer along with Kangxi” — a reception serving 310 year old aged Pu’er tea during the VIP Preview night. In addition, 1000 pieces of the Nine Dragons Imperial Cup have been prepared as gifts for VIP guests. Come join us to experience this antique Pu’er tea of the Kangxi era, while enjoying the marvel artworks from around the world.
