A warm welcome to the Galerie Börgmann. |
We started displaying our art on our new gallery premises in the centre of the Rhineland town of Krefeld, at the heart of a lively art and culture scene, in 2009.
We feel very much at home here, close to the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum and not far from the Haus Lange and Haus Esters museums.
The gallery was opened in 2003 by Carolin and Jochen Börgmann, and its main aim is to be a centre of communication between art-lovers and artists, and discover the up-and-coming talents on Germany's art market at an early stage.
We focus on contemporary figurative art.
We remain true to this principle to this day - we are never influenced by trends or flows.
Our young, fresh programme is noted by collectors from far beyond our own region, as we filter out and support forward-thinking and bold positions and successfully place them on the market
This is achieved using permanent accents that are encouraged by a dense exhibition programme. There are regular publications, catalogues and attendances at trade fairs, all of which help to provide the fertile soil for successful work - in close co-operation with our artists.
Our co-operations with art associations, museums and affiliated galleries are dynamic, and sharpen the gallery's portfolio and its work.
Guests of the Galerie Börgmann
Several requirements need to be met before we can truly experience art. They include peace and quiet, which enables you to communicate with the work. The rooms and walls where the art is displayed. The lighting to show things in their best light.
We believe it is extremely important that you feel comfortable and valued.
We welcome you as our guest, and not as a visitor to the gallery.
This means you are able to experience the art without being observed yourself; to do so in a friendly ambience and - if desired - with a commentary.
It is extremely important to use that you feel cared for, welcome and appreciated.
The rooms at the Galerie Börgmann.
Our gallery at the heart of Krefeld is housed in a beautifully refurbished villa dating back to 1889. The refurbishment was recently completed, and the premises are home to two galleries on a total of 300 m². The same building also accommodates the Galerie Prettyland, which is based in Shanghai and focuses on figurative Asian motifs.
In addition to the stuccoed display rooms, the building also has a wonderful roof terrace.
This is the perfect spot for a cup of coffee overlooking the roofs of Krefeld, and is the perfect way to end a visit to our establishment.
We are always delighted to welcome larger groups to the Galeriehaus Südwall - perhaps the members of an art association or club.
We will take care of all the necessary measures here, such as hotel reservations, guided visits to neighbouring museums such as the Haus Lange and Haus Esters, and restaurant bookings. The appropriate preparations can also be made by us with prior agreement.
