Love, Cigarettes & Beer at Ingleby Gallery Ingleby Gallery is delighted to publish a new suite of prints by David Austen. Love, Cigarettes and Beer is a suite of 21 etchings combining text works and found photographic images. These new prints are available individually or as a full set within a clothbound portfolio. David Austen works in a variety of different media - painting, sculpture, print-making and, more recently, film. His work is bittersweet - always beautiful, but sometimes humorous and sometimes dark and melancholy. Austen's new suite of etchings consists of 17 text-based works and 4 photographic portraits. Individually, the text and photographic fragments within Love, Cigarettes & Beer suggest different characters or scenes from a film. Different arrangements of single prints can create different moods, but when all are displayed together they form an intriuging, ambiguous narrative with an old-fashioned, "film noir" feel. This is the second suite of etchings by David Austen to be published by Ingleby Gallery. The first, Green Electric Morning, was realised in 2006.
