In her site-specific installation Christel Dillbohner plans to work with sculpture, painting and photography. She wants to explore the space from a different angle, through a different lens. She will begin with an inventory of the apparent, but also pay attention to all that which makes itself felt.

Christel Dillbohner describes her artistic practice as visual research where playful experimentation and artistic translation go hand in hand.

During her 10 day long presentation Christel Dillbohner plans to add and/or change elements of her exhibition.

Dillbohner was born and educated in Cologne, Germany, and has been living and working in California for over twenty years. She has had extensive exhibitions in the US as well as in Europe and Asia and is the recipient of much public acclaim.

"For me, art has always been visual research and dissemination: investigating events and concepts through uncommon viewpoints and tools, then transforming ideas and material into "visual catalysts", offers me a perpetual challenge, the basis for my creative process and the means for a nonverbal communication with others. Over the years, I've expanded my material language: worked with clay and sculpted paper, spent days in the darkroom, explored the use of wax, added oils and pigment to my palette, and collected a multitude of natural materials and cultural debris for my assemblages. The outcomes of my visual studies, which often involve travel, are manifested in my paintings, collages, assemblages and sculptures. I present these in intimate or large-scale site- specific installations, often accompanied by talks and workshops. ... It is my hope that the sensuous, speculatively charged zones of this environment may communicate to the viewer my pleasure of viewing things and ideas from a different angle. They may also speak to him or her of discovering, collecting, and securing evidence, and of the never ending search for new insights into, and ideas about, the world and oneself."

About kampstogether

kampstogether is a new art space at the right side of Rhine in Cologne.

kampstogether at the same time is the studio of Inge Kamps, who wishes to allocate the 130-square-meter room three or four times per year colleagues for their presentations.

In this sense, kampstogether is a artist-run-space initiative, which is aimed particularly at artists from the field of visual arts and music.

kampstogether does not pursue a specific concept, but is open to current, especially for experimental, artistic and musical current positions.

kampstogether has started together in October 2012 with an exhibition by Inge Kamps and Johannes Quint.
