For: Immediate Release VCUQatar Design Competition to be Sponsored by Regency Doha, Qatar. VCUQatar announced the Regency Group as the 2009 sponsor for the VCUQatar Design Competition. Regency Group is sponsoring the prizes for the high school seniors from Qatar and a dozen countries in the Middle East that submit the best designs based on the 2009 VCUQatar Design Competition theme. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Ibrahim Al Asmakh, President of Regency Group and Ms. Allyson Vanstone, Dean of VCUQatar. Ms. Vanstone noted, "We are excited about the generous 2009 sponsorship by Regency Group and the potential to sponsor the design competition for the next four years. It is wonderful to see Qatari business leaders such as Mr. Al-Asmakh support the Emir and Her Highness' vision of education excellence in Qatar." During the meeting Mr. Al Asmakh emphasized the urgent need for great designers to help all the burgeoning industries in Qatar and lauded VCUQatar's efforts to provide high quality designers. Also in attendance at the ceremony were Mr. Ehab Selim from Regency Group and Mr. Moamer Qazafi from VCUQatar. VCUQatar offers specialized programs in various design professions. Students have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic, fashion or interior design. A team of highly qualified professors provide rigorous curricula that prepare students to assume leadership roles in the professional field of their choice.
