Born in Hobart, Tasmania (AU)
Kevin Lincoln is respected and admired among his artistic peers, and sought after by interior designers and architects. Lincoln creates contemplative still lifes featuring domestic utensils and objects. He describes his paintings; "from time to time the work tends to become abstracted, but there's always a hold on reality. Although the shapes in the paintings are not directly derived from actual things, they refer to still life."
His superbly executed paintings resonate with a density born of rich, dark layers of colour. They are subtle, quiet and poetic works of art.
Lincoln has recently been included in major public gallery exhibitions, at the National Portrait Gallery ( Intimate Portraits) and the highly acclaimed Phenomena – New Painting in Australia 1, curated by Michael Wardell.
