On the occasion of the award of the 2003 Velįzquez Prize for Plastic Arts to Antoni Tąpies, the MNCARS has organized this exhibition centred on one of the artist's lesser known mediums: terre chamottée. In 1981 Tąpies began to experiment with terre chamottée in Spinner's ceramics workshop in Saint-Paul-de-Vence and produced massy works inspired by his own personal universe, on which he conferred new symbolic value. The exhibition consists of approximately 60 pieces accompanied by a selection of large-format works on paper which coincide chronologically.
